Conversation were formed in December 2009, James replied to an online ad placed by Lee, looking for "an extremely talented vocalist" to form a synth pop duo. The first meeting sowed the seeds to a song we now know as "When I fall" whilst "Tell me I'm the one" was an unfinished hi-nrg synth pop song that Lee had partly written and had asked James to write the final verses. These early collaborations confirmed that between the two members, Conversation had a certain future writing great pop songs together and were strangely on the same wavelength.
James and Lee set themselves a target to be gig ready by March 2010, and indeed their launch event was scheduled at "The Grapes" on 31st March in Sheffield, but not before a trip across the Peninnes to Manchester to perform for the very first time.

Since then, the duo have continued to write new material together and have been invited to perform at various venues across Sheffield and indeed further afield. They also hope to arrange another Steel City Synth Pop event (whereby bands of a similar style perform at a venue in Sheffield) and hope that these events get bigger and better than the last.
As an electronic act comprising of only two members, it is important that the songs translate seamlessly to a live environment.
While the music is currently produced in the studio on an Apple iMac desktop computer, running Logic Studio 9, on stage a Macbook laptop is used to run the backing with live keyboard performances using Mainstage 2 on the laptop controlled by an M-Audio Axiom 61, and a Roland D-50 digital synthesizer.
